As a first project while learning python, web-scraping, and deploying a webapp, I made a simple reddit scraper and word count.
If you're curious about the most commonly mentioned words on a subreddit,
this simple webapp scrapes reddit-post titles, as well as comments, and tallies the words
(ignoring stopwords, such as: The, It, I'm)
Customize your search in the sidebar:
* Type in the name of the subreddit,
* Select the type of post; top, or hot, etc.,
* Select the timeframe of the posts,
* Limit the number of posts to scrape,
* And press Submit & Run
Here are the results for the top-50 posts on /r/newyorkcity from the past day.
